Title: What to Do When it’s Your Turn (and it’s Always Your Turn)
Author: Seth Godin
Initially, this book was a reading material for a university class, but it wasn’t like any other textbooks. It was a coffee table-esque book with interesting copy and graphics. I loved this book for the bold illustrations and for the message it sends. The main message for this book is to “ACT NOW” because we are always procrastinating or waiting for the perfect time to do something (or at least, I am) and here’s the thing, there is never a good time.

Siapa Nama Kamu?
National Gallery of Singapore

As I’m preparing for an upcoming work, I thought of seeking some inspiration at National Gallery Singapore. They currently have a few exhibitions running but the one that piqued my interest was Siapa Nama Kamu? at City Hall Wing, Level 2, DBS Singapore Gallery. The exhibition displays how art has transformed in Singapore from the 19th century to current day. It was so interesting to see how as Singapore’s landscape evolves so does the style of expression. It reveals how artists felt as they were navigating in their ever-changing environment. Some bold, quirky, and sometimes dark. To see and experience all these diverse voices inspired and reminded me why I do what I do. There are other exhibitions that are worth catching too so keep an eye for those when you are there.

The musical score and opening 8mins montage of the love story between Carl and Ellie Fredrickson is what makes “Up” a class of its own.
